THAAT

WHAT IS THAAT?


The tune of the seven ascending and descending notes i called thaat .
AThaat must have seven notes out of the twelve notes {seven shuddah-four komel (re ga dha ni) one teevra( ma).

The combination of several notes weaved into a composition in a way which is pleasing to the ear is called Raaga. Each Raaga creates an atmosphere which is asociated with fellings, emotions, sentiments. A Raaga is based on the principle of a combinationsof notes selected out the 24 notes intervals of the octaves.
Raaga is a Sanskrit word.( The act of coloring or dyeing any feeling or passion especially love ,affection ,sypmathy ,desire .interest, joy delight)
